The Front Desk/Clerk is responsible for greeting patients, vendors, hospital staff, and visitors. S/he answers telephone and routes calls. S/he also schedules appointments; identifies scheduling conflicts; and re-works schedules when necessary. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Minimum of two Years experience as a receptionist which has included scheduling appointments. One year of experience in a physician office or clinic a plus! Working knowledge of Microsoft software products. Duties & Responsibilities: Open and close the office. Ensure that HIPAA Notice of Privacy is on display. Possess excellent people skills and ability to deal with the public in a professional manner. Handle situations in the receptionist area. Maintain a professional reception area/office; organize patient education materials; update bulletin boards, ensure that the treatment rooms are clean and the front desk area is neat and clean. Maintain business and office supplies by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies and placing orders for supplies. Greet and welcome all patients/ families to the clinic. Check in new patients according to office protocol.Check the daily schedule for accuracy and pull the medical records for those clients scheduled for that day. Check in returning patients to the office and update health information with current laboratory and radiologic test results and/or consultations. Confirm next day’s appointments by telephone. Any other duties as requested.
