3D Animator
Full-time, onsite in Irondale (Birmingham), AL. Remote-eligible.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
As the 3D Animator, you will aid the Director of Animation in the crafting of original animated productions from concept to delivery along with graphics and motion design projects.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Collaborate in conceptualizing and developing a pitch and script.
- Research, sketch, and finalize the look and feel of environments, props and characters.
- Craft sequential gesture drawings that help visualize the script with screen direction and scratch vocal performances.
- Craft 3D representations of concept designs.
- Rigging virtual skeletons to 3D/2D characters or props.
- Prepare the final look and feel of an environment, prop, or character using color and texture.
- Prepare 3D layout for mo-cap/animation.
- Aid in recording an actor's movements through motion capture, cleanup the recorded data, and prep for animation.
- Give the illusion of life to a static 3D object by consciously animating its rig, facial expressions, & other objects in the scene using animation principles.
- Render final images of every frame of the animation and troubleshoot along the way.
- Research and acquire the music and sound effects that will enhance each story.
- Editing the story from storyboards to final rendered images and sound design.
- Design and execute branding & promotional materials.
ABOUT YOU:
• You have a minimum 3 years' experience in character animation with a strong visual portfolio showcasing animation and storytelling ability.
• You are proficient with the following software:
o Adobe Creative Cloud: Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects
o 3D software, preferably 3ds Max and/or Unreal Engine
- You have a strong grasp of the animation process and principles of animation.
- You are a self-motivated team player with the ability to comprehend concepts quickly, takes direction well.
- You have excellent communication & organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities, multi-task, and manage several projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- You stay current and up to date with the latest industry trends and techniques.
- You have a bachelor's degree in Animation, or a related field is preferred but not required.
PREFERRED:
- You have a demonstrated understanding of the Catholic Faith and an affinity for EWTN's mission.
- You have motion capture experience; knowledge of cameras, lenses and lighting
- You are bilingual in English and Spanish
- Proficient with Mac & PC
